Pluto Part Deux
It seems that Pluto shan’t go down without a fight after all. I was notfied of an article in which Alan Stern, head of NASA’s New Horizons mission to Pluto, blasted the decision to demote Pluto to “dwarf planet” status. I was also emailed by a group of people who have started similar petitions to mine, and we have decided to pool our efforts on a separate website, PleaseSavePluto.org. I’m going to export the current signatures on my petition to that site, so feel free to check it out and witness the resistance.
We got your back, Pluto…

Asteroid Ceres was once thought to be a planet until astronomers came to realize that there were a lot of other objects in the asteroid belt (the gap between Mars & Jupiter.) Once astronomers knew that there were 15 asteroids and that they would be finding many more (there are now 100K+ asteroids), they created the asteroid belt and demoted Ceres from its planetary status.
I am glad that Pluto & Ceres are now known as Dwarf Planets. They are bigger than common Asteroids but much smaller than the major 8 planets.
Brad, I didn’t have your email address but I wanted to thank you for moving your signatures to http://pleasesavepluto.org/. I have mentioned you and linked your site on the ‘About’ page at http://pleasesavepluto.org/about-us/
Thanks again.
